Transcendent Casting

Transcendent Casting is when a casting choice surpasses societal norms traditionally seen in popular media in regards to colour, race, or identity, but does not alter the story. 

 

Storybook Events strongly believes in transcendent casting in order to provide meaningful work in the arts & entertainment industry for people of colour, as well as allowing the younger generation to see themselves in their favourite heroes and fairytale characters. Representation matters!

 

If you are interested in Transcendent Casting, or would prefer a BIPOC entertainer for your party or event, please let us know when booking! For events featuring several characters, we prefer to cast a minimum of one BIPOC cast member to encourage diversity.
