Hi there! I'm Katie, the owner and founder of Storybook Events KW.

Being a professional actor with experience in the arts and entertainment industry AND the professional princess industry for over 8 years, I wanted to find a way to do what I love, bring magic and create lasting memories.
At Storybook Events we make imagination a reality. The goal of this company is to bring magic into the lives of every child (and adult!) we have the honour of meeting. As an avid fairytale lover myself, I know just how special these interactions can be for everyone involved. We curate magical experiences, not just fleeting moments, with the help of our incredibly talented team of professional performers and artists.

About Our Team
Storybook Events prides itself on our ongoing commitment to quality, and that includes our incredible team.
Everyone involved with Storybook from our gifted artists to our outgoing performers (and everyone in between) is incredibly talented in their field. Ranging from clown courses to masters degrees, all of our performers have some form of professional arts education. Our team is full of wonderful and engaging personalities to ensure your event is highly entertaining, and with hundreds of years of combined experience in the arts, entertainment, and childcare sectors, we guarantee you're in good hands.

For your safety, we require all of our staff to have recent vulnerable sector background checks. You can count on our team to always be professional, courteous, and a whole lot of fun!

We’ve got your back.​ Rest assured we're always following industry standards (or better) when it comes to best practices and policies, so you're safe in our hands.
Face Paint Sanitization Protocols
As you're likely now aware, Storybook Events prides itself on our quality. We want you to feel safe in our hands, so we have mandated all of our face painters to follow a 3+ Step Sanitization Process.
​​All face painters are required to:
1) Use an industry approved water sanitization solution.
2) To clean brushes in an alcohol solution after each use.
3) To sanitize paints and brushes between events.
Why the "plus"? Because as part of the industry safety protocols, we also require our painters to:

Use new sponges for each child so there can be no cross contamination.

Use only FDA approved face paints (which have anti-bacterial properties in their formulas).

Use the three-pot-wash system plus "dip cup" ensuring brushes are thoroughly clean before the sanitizing alcohol solution.

​Plus, some painters have additional protocols they follow to even further your safety!
Storybook Events only employs artists who paint with skin-safe, hypoallergenic, cosmetic-grade, FDA compliant materials. We take the safety of our little clients very seriously and carry $2M liability insurance for your piece of mind. If you have any reservations about particularly sensitive skin, you may request a test patch on the wrist before a full face application. Though a good amount of paints are vegan, not all paints are vegan. To specifically request vegan face paint let us know when booking your party!Â
